No. 8 Mass.-Dartmouth used a quick start to get the jump on No. 22 Brandeis and handed the Judges their first loss of the season, 92-82. Mass.-Dartmouth opened the game on a 27-7 run before Brandeis mounted a rally to cut the deficit to seven at halftime. The Judges narrowed the gap to three but Tyler Turtoro nailed a three pointer to give the Corsairs some breathing room. Kenny Small finished with 38 points for Brandeis while Brandon Shelton led the Corsairs with 22 points, 11 rebounds and six assists off the bench.

Tuesday night featured several other match ups between NCAA tournament teams from a year ago. Tyler Sanborn (19 points, 18 rebounds) led No. 3 Guilford past defending USA South Conference champion Averett, 81-56. No. 5 Richard Stockton turned a one-point halftime lead over Widener into a 72-53 victory. No. 11 Bridgewater State knocked down late free throws to hold off Rhode Island College, 95-92. &&b-boxl&&In women�s action three ranked teams can file Tuesday night's showing under "not pretty but effective." No. 22 Capital escaped a battle against Wittenberg with a 55-49 victory in overtime. Tara Harper struggled from the field for the Crusaders (1-for-7) but was golden from the free throw line (7-for-8) and had 10 rebounds in the victory. No. 5 Scranton erased a double-digit second half deficit and downed Cabrini, 49-44. No. 15 Moravian survived an early test from DeSales 51-48 in a cold shooting night for both teams.

No. 6 Illinois Wesleyan grabbed a school record 64 rebounds in a 108-83 win over NAIA Olivet Nazarene. No. 19 NYU shot a blistering 69 percent from the field in the first half and cruised past Polytechnic 78-51. Shenandoah notched its first win over Mary Washington since 1992, 56-54. The wait wasn't as long for Nazareth but it picked up a victory just as sweet by knocking off Rochester, 69-55. Nazareth's first win over Rochester since 2000 propels the Golden Flyers to a 4-0 mark.

Back on the men's side, No. 4 St. Thomas survived a trip to UW-River Falls, nipping the Falcons 72-71. The Tommies have won 29 consecutive regular season games dating back to 2007-2008. Anderson defeated No. 17 UW-Platteville 65-62, pulling out another close game. The Ravens moved to 3-0 by preserving a three-point lead late in the game for the third time in a row. Three was the magic number for Lebanon Valley, too. Joe Meehan drilled a three pointer with 0.7 seconds left to lift the Flying Dutchmen over No. 6 Franklin & Marshall, 62-59.
