Lehman Defeats Penn State Schuylkill for First Win of the Season

Williamsport, PA - Olando Minott tallied a game high 24 points to lead the Lightning past Penn State Schuylkill 99-58 in the consolation game of the Dutch Burch Tip-off Tournament in Williamsport, PA.  It was the first victory of the season for Lehman (1-1).  PSU Schuylkill falls to 1-2.

The Lightning had the shooters touch all afternoon.  Lehman shot 49% (36-73) from the field and an impressive 54% (7-13) from behind the arc. The Lions had difficulty shooting, converting only 15 of 74 attempts from the field and six of 33 from long range. 

The Lightning jumped out to a 22-8 advantage thanks in part to 11 points by Minott in the opening 7:34.  The Lightning was able to extend the 30, 50-20, before settling on a 54-27 advantage at halftime.  The Lions never seriously challenged in the second.  Nursing a 30 point lead the Lightning ended the game on a 15-4 run for the final margin of victory.

Chaun Miller also had a strong game scoring 14 points while grabbing seven rebounds.  He was also credited with three assists and two steals.  Yoav Elbez and Olusegun Williams added 10 points apiece.  Williams was also credited with five blocks.

The Lions Derek Dimond netted 24 points while teammate William Bracey registered a double-double with 17 points and 14 rebounds.

The Lightning are back in action Wednesday night at William Paterson.  Lehman will host their home opener on Saturday, November 21 in the APEX against the US Coast Guard Academy.  Tip-off is slated for 1:00 PM.
