No. 11 Chicago finished the weekend with a two-game sweep and No. 2 Rochester took its second road loss in three days as the Maroons improved to 16-0 with a 67-60 win.
Chicago led by as many as 22 in the second half before the Yellowjackets (14-2) finally put a run together, outscoring the Maroons 30-14 over an 11-minute stretch of the second half to cut their deficit to 61-55. Rochester got one point closer after a Megan Krebbeks 3-pointer with 1:02 left, but Chicago was 4-for-4 from the line in the final minute to preserve the victory.
At 5-0, Chicago is all alone in first place in the UAA, one game ahead of NYU and Wash U, which each won Sunday as well. The toughest stretch is still to come for Chicago, which hosts No. 16 NYU and No. 17 Brandeis next weekend, then must turn around and travel to NYU and Brandeis the following weekend. Ben Strong scored 18 points and Jordan Snipes scored 12 in the second half to lead No. 20 Guilford past Eastern Mennonite 79-69. The Quakers pulled away with a 12-0 run after leading just 59-58.
