Mike Hoyt reached the 2,000-point plateau as he scored 34 points to lead Mount St. Mary past CCNY 75-48. Hoyt, a preseason D3hoops.com All-America selection, hit a free throw with 6:57 left in the first half, giving him 12 for the night and securing the milestone.

Hoyt finished last season averaging 27.2 points per game, good enough for third in the Division III. In 2006-07, the senior is averaging 27.8 points per game, thanks in part to 109 points over his last three games.

Mount St. Mary struggled early in the first half and CCNY scored the first six points of the game. Trailing 10-6 with just over thirteen minutes to go, the Blue Knights caught fire, going on a 25-4 run. Mount Saint Mary led 37-20 at the break. CCNY would only get as close as 13 points in the second half and the Blue Knights cruised to a 27-point victory.
