Skidmore has announced the retirement of head men's basketball coach John Quattrocchi.

Quattrocchi recently completed his 20th season as Thoroughbred head coach and 23rd year overall. He compiled a 214-287 record at Skidmore and 248-327 overall record that included stints at RPI and Massachusetts College.

A 1973 graduate of Albany, Quattrocchi guided the Thoroughbreds to four ECAC Upstate New York Tournaments and four Liberty League tournaments. His 2004-05 team was ranked regionally for most of the season and finished with a 16-10 record.

During his tenure at Skidmore, Quattrocchi served as chair of the NCAA Division III East Region Men's Basketball committee and he served on the NCAA national committee.

Skidmore will immediately begin a national search for a new coach.
