LeTourneau women's coach steps down

LeTourneau head women's basketball coach Tina Robbins turned in her letter of resignation, effective at the end of the school year, on Tuesday to athletic director Duane Trogdon.

“She expressed a desire to live closer to her family,” said Trogdon. “I am sorry to see her leave, but have no doubts she will be very successful in her future endeavors.”

Robbins took over the LadyJacket basketball program prior to the 2005-06 season. In her first year, she led the team to a six-win improvement over the 2004-05 season. She finished with a 12-38 overall record. In her two seasons, she coached five All-American Southwest Conference student-athletes and two all-Freshman team members.

Robbins was an All-American basketball player at Southwest Missouri State. She was recently named to the Missouri Valley Conference All-Centennial Team and is a member of the Joplin Area Sports Hall of Fame and the Missouri State Athletic Hall of Fame.

Trogdon will begin the search for a new coach immediately.
