Former Radford women's basketball assistant coach Corey Thomaston has accepted the LeTourneau head women's basketball coaching job and will start on July 2.

"This is the type of opportunity that I have been preparing for," said Thomaston. "I am elated to be stepping into a program that is young, but is ready to grow. It is going to be a great challenge, but one that I am looking forward to taking on. I am especially excited about working in the Christian environment that LeTourneau has to offer."

Thomaston assumed many different roles at Radford under coach Jeri Porter. He began as a recruiting director who worked with the guards and continued to add more duties. He assisted with the introduction of Porter's Next Level' basketball camp and began to reestablish Radford's alumni base. Thomaston takes over a LadyJacket program that is coming off a 4-21 season and has not had a winning season since 2002-03 when the team went 15-13 and advanced to its only American Southwest Conference tournament.

“I am pleased that Corey has decided to jump on board at LeTourneau,” said athletic director Duane Trogdon. “He brings the credentials and enthusiasm needed to succeed here and I am looking forward to watching him work.”
