St. Olaf women's coach steps down

St. Olaf head women's coach Pat Buresh has resigned, athletic director Matt McDonald announced on Thursday morning. She had a career record of 199-271 (.423).

Buresh was at the helm for 19 seasons. She led St. Olaf to a pair of 19-win campaigns - in 1991-92 and 1998-99. In 1992, Buresh was named the MIAC's co-coach of the year as St. Olaf made an appearance in the Division III NCAA Tournament. She helped the Oles to a third place campaign in 1998-99 and an MIAC playoffs trip in 2002.

A national search for a replacement will begin immediately.
