Mississippi College athletic director and head men's basketball coach Mike Jones underwent successful triple bypass heart surgery Tuesday afternoon at a local Jackson, Miss., hospital.

The operating physicians deemed the surgery a complete success and expect Jones to make a full recovery. He will spend this week in the hospital recovering from the procedure and is expected to spend the next 4-6 weeks rehabbing at home before resuming his day-to-day duties. Associate head coach Don Lofton will be running the team in Jones' absence.
