The Lady Vikings received a game-high 20 points from senior guard Michelle Gosselin en route to securing head coach Tim Shea's 600th career victory with a 65-33 non-conference road decision over Plymouth State.
Shea, who is in his 27th season at SSC, improved his collegiate career record to 600-143 (.807). He is just the fourth head coach in NCAA Division III basketball history to achieve 600 victories.
Gosselin came out firing for the Lady Vikings, draining five of the seven three-point attempts she launched in the first half. She finished the game with a total of six threes made in 10 attempts.
Sophomore center Danielle Jenkins and junior center Lauren Wholley each recorded double-doubles for SSC (4-0). Jenkins scored 10 points and collected 10 rebounds while Wholley added 10 points and 10 boards. The Panthers (3-2) stayed close, trailing 24-18 with four minutes to play in the first half until the Lady Vikings went on an 11-2 run to go into the break with a 35-20 lead. SSC continued its hot play at the start of the second half, going on a 14-2 run which increased the visitor's lead to 27.
