Brandeis trims Elms in overtime

Brandeis senior guard Joe Coppens poured in a game-high 37 points and sophomore guard Andre Roberson drained a 3-pointer with 3.0 seconds remaining in overtime to help the No. 2 Judges escape with a thrilling 96-94 win at Elms on Monday night.

With the win, Brandeis (10-1) tied its 1956-57 team for the best 11-game start in school history as the Judges won their third in a row overall. Elms, which was trying for the program's first-ever win against a nationally ranked opponent, fell to 8-3.

“Our seniors really stepped up for us and the only real difference in this game was our rebounding.”

“This was one of the best games I've ever been a part of,” Elms coach Ed Silva said. “Brandeis is a very good team and we played with them all night. I'm very proud of the effort our guys gave.” Full story.
