2,000-point club gets one man stronger

Ben Strong joined the 2,000-point club Saturday afternoon with a 30-point performance in Guilford's 103-53 win against Lynchburg.

Strong, the reigning D3hoops.com Player of the Year, had 16 first-half points and hit the milestone with the first of two free throws with 9:01 remaining in the game. He hit the second and did not return. Strong is Guilford's first 2,000-point scorer since moving to Division III and is five points behind NBA star World B. Free on the school's career list.

Guilford's leading scorer at 25.4 points per game, Strong is the third Division III player to reach the 2,000-point milestone this season, following Aurora's Larry Welton and Piedmont's Jake Baldwin.
