Manhattanville added a crucial nonconference game to its men's basketball schedule today and will go on the road and play NJAC South leading Richard Stockton on Monday Feb. 18, coach Pat Scanlon announced.
At 15-5 and 8-2 in conference, the Ospreys lead the New Jersey Athletic Conference's south division. On Saturday, Stockton defeated William Paterson, leaders of NJAC North, 78-75. The Valiants were scheduled to play at William Paterson earlier in the season, but the game was cancelled due to a facility issue at William Paterson. In their only game against a team in the Freedom Conference, the Ospreys defeated Arcadia 77-37.
Stockton has defeated several teams on Manhattanville's schedule this season, knocking off New Jersey City at home and winning on the road against Rutgers-Newark. Earlier this season, the Valiants defeated Rutgers-Newark on the road on Dec. 5, 2007, winning their first road game against an NJAC school since Jan. 28, 1980.
Jon Greene leads the Ospreys in scoring and rebounding, averaging 14.7 points and 8.1 rebounds per game. Jerome Hubbard is second on the team in scoring with 14.4 points per game and leads the team with 2.3 steals per game.
