Sweet and Stormy

No. 24 Oglethorpe defeated No. 3 Thomas More 65-55, knocking one of the three undefeated women's teams out of the NCAA Tournament. The Stormy Petrels, who had never won an NCAA Tournament game before Friday night, are headed to the Sweet 16. Tina Grace's layup with less than eight minutes to play gave Oglethorpe a 50-49 lead it would not relinquish. Grace had 17 points and 10 rebounds as the Petrels outrebounded the Saints 50-30.

The other two undefeated teams stayed that way. Jordyn Boles scored 20, which was also the margin of victory, as No. 1 Hope cruised past No. 10 Baldwin-Wallace 68-48. No. 2 Howard Payne beat No. 12 McMurry for the fourth time this season, this time by a score of 79-64.

The Jumbos held Mount St. Mary to 23 percent shooting and eliminated the Knights, 54-38.
