BROWNWOOD, Texas -- In an exciting showdown worthy of two undefeated teams, No. 2 Howard Payne tipped No. 1 Hope 53-49 behind an All-American performance by Meia Daniels. Daniels scored 37 points, including a three-pointer with 1:32 left to give the Yellow Jackets the lead for good.

Daniels scored 15 of the Yellow Jackets' first 17 points and took almost half of their field goal attempts in the game (24 of 53). “If this was in the middle of the season you'd want more balance to the offense,” said coach Chris Kielsmeir of the scoring distribution. “Not tonight. We just kept giving her the ball.”

Hope outrebounded Howard Payne by 20 (53-33) but the Yellow Jackets shot 18 free throws to the Flying Dutch's six. Jordyn Boles finished with 18 points, all on three-pointers, for Hope. Full story.
