Following two very successful seasons as head men's basketball coach at Stevens Institute of Technology, Josh Loeffler will become an assistant coach at Division I Lafayette. Loeffler went 46-13 with the Ducks, including a 23-7 rookie campaign in 2006-07.
Under Loeffler the Ducks reached their first NCAA tournament in 2007 and made the most of the opportunity, defeating 18th-ranked WPI and NJAC champion Ramapo to reach the Sweet 16 where they lost to eventual national champion Amherst.
Stevens finished the season ranked 24th in the D3hoops.com Top 25 poll and Loeffler was named Atlantic Region Coach of the Year. Last season Stevens tied its school record for wins with a 23-6 campaign and won its first ECAC Metro tournament title.
Loeffler will join Lafayette coach Fran O'Hanlon whose Leopards went 15-15, 6-8 in the Patriot League last season. Stevens will conduct a national search for his replacement.
