Philadelphia Bible is pleased to announce the hiring of Jared Yoder as interim men's basketball coach for the 2008-09 season.

Yoder completed an outstanding four-year career at Messiah by being honored as the MAC Commonwealth Most Valuable Player and second team D3hoops.com All-Region.

Yoder will continue in his role as sports information director for the Crimson Eagles where he, among other things, has been instrumental in the development of the new PBU athletic Web site, which will launch this fall.

"Jared brings to this position a passion for basketball and a desire to see growth in the lives of student-athletes both in the game and in life," said athletic director Drew Watson. "I'm looking forward to seeing how those qualities positively affect the program next season."

PBU enters the Colonial States Athletic Conference (formerly Pennsylvania Athletic Conference) this fall, joining Baptist Bible, Cabrini, Cedar Crest, Centenary, Notre Dame (Md.), Gwynedd-Mercy, Immaculata, Keystone, Marywood, Neumann and Rosemont.
