Mary Wash keeps streak alive

Mary Washington protected its home court for the 36th consecutive time and the Eagles knocked off No. 1 Kean 67-58. Senior forward Ashton Mitchell scored 18 points, grabbed 11 rebounds, dished four assists and blocked three shots to lead the No. 15 Eagles to the victory.

In an interconference matchup of Top 10 teams, Khalifa El-Amin scored 25 points and No. 6 UW-Stevens Point rode of a 24-4 run to down No. 7 Elmhurst, 62-53. No. 3 UW-Platteville got 24 points from Charlie Lohoff in a 69-62 win at UW-River Falls while No. 5 UW-Whitewater picked up a road win of its own at UW-Superior. Saturday's men's scores.

Elsewhere, Baruch erased a seven-point halftime deficit to defeat No. 14 St. Mary's (Md.). Lionel Hilaire scored all 19 of his points in the second half for the homestanding Bearcats. No. 15 Gettysburg lost its second straight on the road, falling to Widener, 80-75, in the first meeting of the teams since 1991.

DeSales got 25 second-half points from LeighAnn Burke to lead the No. 18 Bulldogs back from a 10-point halftime deficit and hand No. 6 Messiah its second loss to a ranked team this week.

No. 7 UW-Whitewater, No. 8 UW-Eau Claire, No. 10 Simpson, and No. 19 Howard Payne all won easily on the women's side, as did a pair of teams that fell out of the rankings, Washington University, and DePauw. No. 25 George Fox won handily and remained unbeaten, hammering Chapman, 82-52. Laura Porter scored the last two of her 16 second-half points with two seconds left, giving Central a narrow win over Martin Luther.

Framingham State rallied from 13 down to win at Brandeis, snapping the Judges' five-game win streak. Virginia Wesleyan handed previously unbeaten North Carolina Wesleyan its second straight defeat, winning 84-59. UW-Oshkosh beat UW-Stout on a last-second shot by Dane Seckar-Anderson. Millikin routed Eureka, and is now 8-0 for the first time since 1919-20. That squad went 18-0.
