Once upon a time, an SID asked the rhetorical question: Why are there All-Region teams for men's basketball, but not for women's? In fact, while the men's coaches association selects three teams for each region and 24 All-Americans, the women's selects just 10 All-Americans and leaves 30 as "finalists."

That didn't make much sense to us either, so we stepped in to sponsor, and later manage, the D3hoops.com All-Region team. And now in its eighth year, we've had a record 662 nominations and have this year's honorees ready to release to you: The 2008-09 D3hoops.com All-Region team.
