Calvin opened the night with an upset win of its own, knocking off No. 17 Carthage 72-69, rallying from a nine-point second-half deficit to do so. Calvin had led by as many as 10 points in the first half but came back to take a 61-52 lead on a Malcom Kelly three-pointer with 7:45 to go.
