The battle of Division III basketball's Red Dragons had a familiar finish as Cortland State defeated Oneonta State 69-63 on Tuesday night. It was Cortland State's tenth consecutive win against its conference rival.

With the game tied at 47, Cortland State's defense clamped down on Oneonta State, holding the visitor to just one field goal for a span of nearly 10 minutes. No. 18 Amherst rolled past depleted Vassar 88-55 as all 14 Lord Jeffs who dressed scored. St. John Fisher widened its lead in the Empire 8 by downing cross-street rival Nazareth 80-75 at home.
