Middlebury, George Fox post big wins

Senior Ryan Sharry connected on 19 of 23 field goal attempts and scored a career-high 41 points to lead No. 1 Middlebury to a 123-111 victory over RPI in a non-conference men's basketball game at RPI's East Campus Arena. And all the way across the country, the No. 3 George Fox women went on a late 13-0 run to win at No. 11 Lewis and Clark, 68-63.

Middlebury's 123 were a school record, and kept the Panthers unbeaten at 10-0.

No. 20 Oswego State went toe-to-toe with a Division I school before falling 59-54 at UT-Pan American. Hayden Ward scored a game-high 18 points and Chad Burridge had a game-high 10 rebounds in the loss.

Lycoming remained undefeated, dropping Mount Union (4-8) 91-75 behind 10 points and 13 assists from Jerald Williams. The Warriors won their 12th in a row, bettering a 44-year-old mark. NYU remained unbeaten as well, beating Haverford (3-8) to improve to 9-0. Richard Stockton rolled past North Carolina Wesleyan 83-60 to earn Gerry Matthews his 500th win as a head coach.

Tuesday's women's games

Hannah Munger had 12 points, 11 rebounds and seven blocked shots for George Fox (12-0, 3-0 NWC) in its win at Lewis and Clark, one of three players in double figures for the Bruins. Keisha Gordon led all scorers with 18 points. The Pioneers (11-1, 2-1) were led by Kristina Williams' 16 points.

Tufts improved to 9-2 behind 14 points from Caitlin McClure, defeating Maine Maritime 47-39. The Jumbos face No. 12 Williams next to open NESCAC play. Baruch rallied from a 12-point halftime deficit but could not hold on in an 80-75 loss to DeSales. Messiah went 8-for-8 from the foul line in the final 76 seconds to seal away a 67-58 win against Gettysburg. Scranton, playing in the consolation game of Gettysburg's tournament, had four in double figures in a 62-46 win against Neumann.
