UW-Stevens Point dealt UW-Whitewater its first loss of the season in men's action while UW-Whitewater returned the favor on the women's side.

On the men's side, No. 7 UW-Stevens Point travelled to No. 2 UW-Whitewater for a showdown of undefeated WIAC teams. With the score tied at 30 early in the second half, the Pointers scored 12 straight to take control. The Warhawks never got within 10 points the rest of the way. Full recap

Preseason All-American Tyler Tillema left the game for Stevens Point with an apparent injury late in the first half and did not return. Trevor Haas scored 14 of his 18 points in the second half to lead the Pointers (8-0, 3-0). Eric Bryson had 15 points for UW-Whitewater (7-1, 3-1).

No. 13 Ramapo stayed undefeated by routing Rutgers-Newark 79-52. Elgin Brown and Garret Thiel had double-doubles for the Roadrunners who are 6-0 in the NJAC. Rowan topped TCNJ 74-70 to pick up its ninth win of the season. The Profs won 12 games all of last season.

Allegheny goes into the semester break over .500 for the first time in five season thanks to a big night from Ryan Stanko. He had 31 points and 10 rebounds as the Gators held off Thiel 86-75 in double-overtime.

Two nights after pushing No. 5 St. Thomas to the limit, Bethany Lutheran came up just short again, this time losing to St. John's 59-55. La Roche beat Mount Aloysius 83-69 to cool off the Mounties who had won five straight.

Women's action

UW-Superior beat UW-Eau Claire for the first time since 1987, as Sally Linzmeier scored 24 points and Connie Emanski hit two crucial free throws with 18 seconds left to help seal a 73-65 win.

It's the second time this month the Yellowjackets have ended a long losing streak to a WIAC foe, as their win against UW-Stevens Point two weeks ago was the first win against the Pointers since 1995.

No. 16 UW-Whitewater edged No. 12 UW-Stevens Point 58-55 and the Warhawks improved to 4-0 in conference with a big road victory.

After Stevens Point took a 40-32 lead, the Warhawks held the Pointers to two field goals over the next eight minutes and rallied to take a six point lead of their own. Sam Barber's three pulled Stevens Point within two with 41 seconds left. On the ensuing Whitewater possession, Megan Thune missed a layup with six seconds left but grabbed the rebound and got fouled. She made one of two free throws and the Warhawks hung on for the win. Full recap

UW-Whitewater improves to 7-2 overall while UW-Stevens Point drops to 5-3, 1-2 in conference.

No. 23 Montclair State stayed unbeaten in a 74-61 runaway win at home over New Jersey City. No. 5 Washington U. dominated crosstown rival Fontbonne 81-48.
