Tyler Peters buried a fadeaway jumper as time expired to lift No. 22 Wheaton to a win at home against No. 6 Washington U., 66-64.

Wash U had battled from a 10-point second-half deficit to tie the game on a Ben Hoener 3-pointer with 38 seconds left, but the Thunder ran the clock all the way down, missed a 3-pointer and got the offensive rebound. Wheaton then took a time out, setting up Peters' heroics.

There were at least three more men's buzzer beaters on Saturday, as WPI remained unbeaten thanks to Aaron Davis' 24-footer as time expired at Fitchburg State, Michael Sommer did the same to lift Capital past Baldwin Wallace and Travis Dykman did it for Texas-Tyler against Hardin-Simmons.
No. 1 Virginia Wesleyan survived its first week in the top spot unscathed, turning up the pressure on conference rival Guilford and beating the Quakers 63-49. Tre' Ford led the Marlins with 18 points.
Clayton Heuer scored 20 points on 8-for-11 shooting, while Tyler Tillema added 15 to lift No. 7 UW-Stevens Point past Augustana 67-59. It's the Vikings' first loss of the season. Haverford went to F&M and pushed the No. 8 Diplomats all the way to the buzzer before falling 61-59. Brett Cohen had a game-high 25 points for the Fords, to go along with nine rebounds.
John DiBartolomeo had 29 points against Hobart for the second time in a week, leading the No. 11 Yellowjackets to an 86-80 win. This time he added 10 assists for the double-double. Tahrike Carter finished with a career-high 22 points as No. 14 Rhode Island College fell to Eastern Connecticut 76-68. It's the Anchormen's second consecutive loss after they trounced then-No. 1 MIT.
Becker tied what is believed to be the Division III record for most consecutive conference wins, cruising past Wheelock 75-50 for its 37th consecutive win in the New England Collegiate Conference. Preseason All-America selection Colton Hunt poured in 36 points as Randolph had little trouble with Shenandoah, improving to 8-0 with an 83-51 win.
Taylor Epley scored 27 points and Williams shot 15-for-23 from 3-point range to defeat Springfield 84-69. Epley was 6-for-9 from beyond the arc and James Klemm was 6-for-8 en route to his 22 points in the victory.
