Wilmington was outrebounded 53-35 but was on fire from 3-point range, as the Quakers came from 12 points down in the final nine minutes to defeat Division I Miami (Ohio) 65-63 on Saturday afternoon.

It's the first win by a Division III school vs. a Division I opponent in men's basketball since Colorado College upset Air Force in November 2010

The Quakers (1-1) took the lead for good when Klarke Ransom hit from beyond the arc with 1:42 to go to give his team a 63-62 lead. After a missed three by the Redhawks, Miami had a foul to give. Eventually, R.J. Leppert got to the line and made two free throws with seven seconds left to salt the game away.

Miami led by as many as 13, 39-26, and had a 59-47 lead with 8:50 as well before Wilmington's comeback.

Taylor Wellman hit a 3-pointer to bring the deficit back within single digits, then hit another following a Miami turnover. Leppert hit a jumper to cut the lead to five and tipped in his own missed layup to cut the lead to 60-57 with 5:28 left.

Miami stemmed the tide momentarily with a layup with 2:34 left for the Redhawks, but Leppert hit a 3-pointer to cut the lead to 62-60, setting up Ransome's heroics.
