Patrick Stewart was on-target from long range, going 5-for-10 from beyond the arc in Colby's win.

No. 7 Washington University and No. 11 Williams rallied from late second-half deficits, but No. 3 Amherst let one get away, as Colby pulled away to hand the Lord Jeffs their first NESCAC loss.

Aaron Toomey had 26 points, shot 5-for-11 from 3-point range and turned the ball over just twice, but Colby's Patrick Stewart answered with 25 points, including five 3-pointers of his own, to lift the White Mules past No. 3 Amherst 80-75.

After trailing for most of the game, Colby went on an 11-0 run to take a 73-63 lead with 1:17 left. But even though Toomey scored six points in a span of 22 seconds and David Kalema hit back-to-back 3-pointers in under 10 seconds, Colby hit seven of eight foul shots over that span to maintain its lead. Full story.

No. 11 Williams rallied from an 18-point second-half deficit and a 12-point deficit in the final six minutes of the game, ending the game on a 19-4 run to defeat Middelbury 64-61.

Taylor Epley made two 3-pointers during the run and Michael Mayer added six points, including two free throws which gave the Ephs the lead for good with 39 seconds left. Middlebury was 2-for-8 from the floor and had two turnovers during the run.

No. 7 Wash U. outscored Rochester 13-2 in the final 3:55 as the Bears remained perfect in UAA play with a 78-75 win Friday night in Rochester. Senior forward Chris Klimek scored a game-high 20 points and had 10 rebounds, leading five scorers in double figures for the Bears.

Ryan Mahon drilled the game-winning 3-pointer as time expired to lift Alfred to a 96-93 victory over host Utica in an Empire 8 game. Alfred used a 21-10 run in the final 5:44 of the contest to rally past the Pioneers. Staten Island won its 16th consecutive game, blasting Baruch 92-67. The Dolphins improved to 17-2 overall and 11-0 in conference, while the visiting Bearcats fell to 11-10, 7-5, respectively. Bloochy Magliore scored 21 off the bench and Jon Chadwick-Myers added 20 for the victors.

Women's wrapup

No. 20 NYU saw its fortunes flip from one Friday night to the next. After last week's big home win against Emory, the road treated the Violets poorly as NYU lost 71-68 at Carnegie Mellon. Senior Jacquie Shaw scored a season-high 20 points and scored the go-ahead basket.

Shaw grabbed what could be her most important rebound of the season to date when she bolted into the lane for an offensive board and a putback to give the Tartans the lead for good with 25 seconds remaining. It's just the second UAA win for the Tartans against four defeats.

Emory, on the other hand, found home much more welcoming. The No. 16 Eagles got 22 points from Savannah Morgan and 19 from Hannah Lilly in defeating Chicago 86-78.

Melissa Gilkey had a big night to lead No. 2 Wash U. to a 65-58 win at Rochester. No. 6 Tufts shot just 15-for-26 from the foul line but turned the ball over just seven times in defeating Connecticut College. No. 19 Bowdoin opened the second half on a 25-4 run to pull away from visiting Trinity (Conn.) 59-46.
