Duncan Robinson goes D-I

Duncan Robinson has followed his former coach into Division I. The D3hoops.com Rookie of the Year and an All-America selection as a freshman has landed a scholarship offer from the University of Michigan.

Robinson made the official announcement late this afternoon on his Twitter account.

"I'd like to thank Williams College & the whole community for an incredible year," Robinson tweeted. "I will forever cherish the relationships I've made there."

Robinson averaged 17.1 points per game his freshman season, helping lead the Ephs to the Division III men's basketball championship game, which they lost to UW-Whitewater. He scored 19.1 points per game in the NCAA Tournament, including 30 in a national semifinal defeat of archrival Amherst.

Earlier this offeseason, Williams coach Mike Maker took the head coaching job at Division I Marist.

The Wolverines were 28-9 this past season. Robinson will have to sit out a year in transferring.
