DePauw and UW-Whitewater met the last two seasons in the NCAA tournament. On Saturday they met in Milwaukee where the Tigers topped the Warhawks 63-59 in Wisconsin Lutheran's season opening tournament.

DePauw held UW-Whitewater without a field goal for 11 minutes in the second half and that was long enough for the Tigers to turn a four-point deficit into a double-digit lead. Savannah Trees scored 15 points for DePauw which converted 20 of 24 free throw attempts.
Sydney Moss returned to the court for Thomas More after her sophomore season ended with an injury in the NCAA tournament. Moss looked fine, scoring 18 points, and so did the Saints who rolled over Centre, 77-44.
Conference play began in the NJAC where Montclair State rallied to defeat TCNJ, 51-43. The Red Hawks scored the game's final 14 points. Lake Forest opened MWC play with a 55-48 win at Cornell, which was picked second in the preseason poll.

Two road teams won Top 25 battles on Saturday night with Washington U. beating Wheaton (Ill.) and St. Thomas taking care of Whitworth.
With No. 9 Washington U. leading by one point in the final two minutes, Nick Burt converted a three-point play to give the Bears some breathing room. Burt scored a career-high 17 points and Washington U. held off the Thunder, 73-69. The Bears outscored the Thunder by 18 in the paint and 14 off the bench.
No. 13 St. Thomas completed an impressive swing through Washington State by blasting No. 17 Whitworth, 90-69. The Tommies shot 65 percent from the field (31-for-48) and 79 percent from three (11-for-14). On Thursday St. Thomas beat Whitman, 96-86.
Joey Flannery hit a layup at the buzzer to get Babson to overtime where the Beavers edged Skidmore, 75-74. Flannery scored 31 points and grabbed 12 rebounds. Connor Merrill had a double-double for the Thoroughbreds.
Scranton welcomed Elizabethtown to its new conference by beating the Blue Jays 65-54 in both teams' Landmark opener. Elizabethtown moved to the Landmark from the Commonwealth Conference, which also opened play with Lycoming rallying to beat defending champion Alvernia, 67-64.
Ohio Wesleyan scored the day's biggest upset with an 85-71 win at No. 6 Calvin. Nick Felhaber scored 29 points for the Battling Bishops on nine three-pointers and two free throws. Ohio Wesleyan improved to 3-0.
