The offseason is a good time to follow up on some of the stories we've told over our years covering Division III basketball. In 2014 Rob Knox told the story of Johns Hopkins forward George Bugarinovic who was balancing an All-Conference basketball career with a passion for medical research.

Since winning the Jostens Trophy in 2015, Bugarinovic has continued his drive toward a medical career. His unique journey has taken him from Serbia to Canada, Kansas, Baltimore and Harvard Medical School. Along the way he is bringing undergraduates back to his native country through a hospital shadowing exchange program.
