Wesleyan jumped out to a 15-2 lead on No. 3 Middlebury and expanded that lead to 46-19 late in the first half. The Panthers went on a 41-17 run to cut their deficit to three points midway through the second half, but that was as close as Middlebury would get. Wesleyan scored the next 10 points and went on to win, 89-85. An Evan Flaks 3-pointer at the buzzer made the final deficit four points, but the contest was only a one-possession game one time in the second half.

Gabe Ravetz led the way for Wesleyan (14-7, 5-2 NESCAC) with 27 points, including 7-for-10 shooting from 3-point range. Shane Regan added 17 points off the bench. Middlebury star Alex Sobel was held to 18 points in 29 points as the Panthers fell to 18-3, 6-2. Through Friday night, there are four teams within one game of each other at the top of the NESCAC standings.

No. 13 Oswego State won its 15th consecutive game and did so in overwhelming fashion, as the Lakers crushed SUNY New Paltz 112-53 on Friday night. New Paltz, now in fifth place in the SUNYAC, fell to 10-9, 8-5 in conference play. Six Lakers reached double figures, led by Joey Rowback, who scored 16 points off the bench. Oswego (19-2, 13-1) outrebounded the Hawks 61-35.

Washington University swept the University of Rochester at home. The unranked Bear women got past the No. 18 University of Rochester women 64-59, while the No. 21 Bears defeated the No. 15 Yellowjackets 79-61 in men's action.

The Rochester women led by as many as 14 in the first half, but struggled after halftime as the Bears outscored their opponents 43-26 the rest of the way. The Wash U men (15-4, 6-2 UAA) remain in a first place tie in the conference standings with Emory, sitting a game up on third place Case Western Reserve and Carnegie Mellon who are 5-3 in conference play a little more than halfway through the UAA schedule.

Elsewhere, the St. Lawrence men blocked 11 Hobart shots to get past the Statesmen in overtime and keep the top of the Liberty League an absolute logjam. Ithaca is atop the conference standings at 9-3, Vassar is 9-4, and Hobart, RPI, Skidmore and St. Lawrence are in a four-way tie for third at 8-5. Trent Adamson led the Saints with 16 points on 7-10 shooting, including clutch layups in the final minutes of regulation and overtime.
