If you thought the big bushy mustache was the source of Peter Gorman's prodigious scoring prowess, the answer is, no, not really. The Ramapo senior guard, freshly shaven, played all 50 minutes and scored a game-high 25 points, seven of them in the overtime periods, as the Roadrunners outlasted Claremont-Mudd-Scripps 89-84 in double overtime in the first round of the NCAA Tournament.

The Roadrunners were led by Gorman, the NJAC player of the year, who posted eight rebounds to go with his 25 points. Shane Rooney posted a double-double of 12 points and ten rebounds while Jordan Myers scored 23 points. Branden Moore and Tim Linton came off the bench and each posted ten points.

AJ Rohosy had 24 points and 20 rebounds, and Will Householter added 22 for the Stags (20-8). Matt Meredith was able to tie the game with nine seconds left in regulation for the Stags, and Rohosy (three-point play) and Householter (running jumper) knotted the score in the final minute of the first overtime to bring it to a second extra session. Householter had a tying jumper in the second overtime, and Rohosy had a steal and breakaway dunk with 1:39 left to tie it 77-77, but Ramapo took the lead on a pair of foul shots and then was 8-for-8 in the final minute from the line to keep CMS from getting possession with a chance to tie.

Ramapo (21-7) shot 18-for-18 from the foul line combined in the overtimes.

Myers not only had the big night on offense, he had the assignment to defend Rohosy, who has given SCIAC opponents trying to guard him.

"Rohosy is a 6-9 graduate student that causes all kinds of problems and Jordan was up to the task today," Ramapo coach Chuck McBreen said after the game. "Rohosy had 24 and Jordan had 23. If you would have told me before the game that he would match Rohosy, I would have taken that in a second. My hat's off to Jordan for stepping up against a big-time player."

A Householter three-pointer gave CMS its first lead of the second half at 44-43, and Caelan Jones had a three-pointer to put the Stags up 47-44, but after the Roadrunners went back ahead 49-48 with 10:25 to go, neither team had more than a two-point lead the rest of regulation, and neither team ever had a two-possession lead until the final minute of the second overtime.

Rohosy had 14 of his 20 rebounds on the offensive end to match his career high.
