Men's NCAA Tournament bracket is out!

Welcome to Boston, Redlands Bulldogs!

Here's who's going where when the NCAA Tournament starts on Friday. Because of NPI, we already knew the 64 teams who were playing, but we also knew that someone was flying out of Southern California.

It's the destination that's interesting.

How about Claremont-Mudd-Scripps getting on a plane to head to Ramapo to play Ramapo in northern New Jersey? That's a pod of four teams where Drew is the highest seed, but chose not to put in their paperwork to host because of facilities conflicts.

Franklin & Marshall is also an unexpected host, the benefit of Randolph-Macon not being able to play men's games at home this weekend. In odd numbered years, the women's teams have priority on hosting in the first weekend, and the Randolph-Macon women clearly will be hosting. Similarly, York (Pa.) will be hosting a pod because NYU cannot, and Chicago will be hosting a pod instead of Illinois Wesleyan. Chicago is hosting because the school is within 500 miles of all three schools, where St. John's is not.

Why Redlands against St. Joseph's (Maine), however? Two very similar teams -- literally the No. 26 and No. 27 overall seeds in the NPI. Ryan Scott would have fixed this bracket this way:

Keene vs. Catholic at Trinity
Hamilton vs. Clark at Montclair
St. Joe's vs. Western New England at Tufts
Redlands at TCNJ
Franklin & Marshall vs. Pitt-Bradford at Hampden-Sydney
Swap Neumann and Bryn Athyn
If the host can accommodate, Yeshiva for Utica.
