NORTHFIELD, Vt. – Junior F Antonio Davis recorded a double-double with 12 points and 10 rebounds to help the Norwich University men's basketball team take down UMaine–Augusta, 90-54, in the opening game of the 14th Annual Ed Hockenbury Classic. The game was the Cadets' 2010-11 home debut.
Sophomore G Ryan Williams went 6-of-9 shooting for Norwich (2-2), including going 5-of-7 from three-point territory, for 20 points on the night. Williams was also credited with three assists and four rebounds.
Senior G Jaren Jeffcoat and freshman G Tom McDonald both added ten points for NU.
Orlando Jones had a big night for a UMA, scoring 20 points and recording six boards. David Prior tallied 16 points for the Moose on 6-of-10 shooting while adding six rebounds.
The Cadets move on to the championship game to face Colby-Sawyer, who defeated Johnson State 62-41 in the other first-round game. The title clash is set to tip at 3 p.m.
