Setting a new season high with his 20 rebounds, Aaron Van Klaveren also earned his seventh double-double of 2011, finishing with 14 points.

Leading all scorers with 25 points, Greg Grimm finished with his second-highest scoring total this season falling four points shy of tying his 29-point performance versus Occidental earlier this season.

Finishing with 14 and 10 points respectively, Jayvaughn Nettles and Jeremy Sulker-Hall round out the Kingsmen quartet who finished with double-digit scoring efforts against the Bulldogs.

Also aiding Cal Lutheran in the win was their effort under the boards and their offensive discipline exhibited throughout the entire evening.

Outrebounding the Bulldogs by a 41-32 margin in front of a boisterous and energetic crowd at Gilbert Arena, the Kingsmen shot 25-49 from the field to finish with their third-highest shooting percentage this season.

Finishing with a 56.3% effort against Caltech (27-48) last January, the Kingsmen would have needed a near flawless second half to match their 68.6% shooting performance versus UC Santa Cruz last December as CLU ended the first half with a strong 15-27 (55.6%) effort to create their sizable lead.

With 11 lead changes taking place in the first half, Cal Lutheran began pulling away from Redlands with five minutes left in the first half by scoring 13 unanswered points en route to a 41-30 lead after 20 minutes of action.

When the second half began, the Kingsman continued where they left off and constructed another 8-4 run to extend their lead to 15 points.

Having been dominated for a majority of the game, Redlands did organize a comeback effort of their own, eventually decreasing the CLU lead to three with only 34 seconds left in the game.

As was the case throughout a majority of the game, CLU would capitalize on their free-throw opportunities; making eight of their last 10 shots from the line to end the game, it was Sulker-Hall's back-to-back shots that sealed the victory for the Kingsmen.

In addition to Sulker-Hall's perfect 4-4 shooting at the line, Van Klaveren finished 6-8 in addition to Grimm's 5-8 free-throw performance to extend CLU's home SCIAC win streak against Redlands to a mind-blowing 21 games.

The win also marked CLU's ninth triumph over Redlands in the last 11 games played.

Cal Lutheran will face Caltech in their next game this Wednesday at Gilbert Arena. Tip-off is scheduled for 7:30 p.m.
