(Lexington, KY) - The Carroll University men's basketball team was ousted from the NCAA Tournament by No. 22 Wittenberg University, 87-70.

Wittenberg used its superior size down low and hot three-point shooting in the first half to stop Carroll's attempt at a second Sweet Sixteen appearance in the past five seasons.

For the first time in the past several weeks the Pioneers were held under 50% shooting from the floor (45.8%). Wittenberg finished the game shooting 53.7% from the field, including 59.3% in the opening half.

Three Pioneers reached double figures in scoring, led by 16 points from Jake Bast. Kyle Jones finished his career with 14 points while Kevin Hurd added 13.

Carroll advanced to tonight's game after stunning No. 16 Transylvania University last night.
