Junior guard/forward Egzon Gjonbalaj has been named to the 2015 National Association of Basketball Coaches (NABC) Division III All-District (Atlantic) Second Team.
Gjonbalaj had a career year in 2014-2015, averaging 18.3 points, 8.6 rebounds, 3.8 assists, 2.0 steals and 1.9 blocks per game, all team-highs. Within the City University of New York Athletic Conference (CUNYAC), Gjonbalaj ranked second in blocks, fourth in scoring, fifth in both rebounding and steals and sixth in assists. He started in all 30 games this season averaging 32.8 minutes-per-contest, also a team-high.
A CUNYAC First Team All-Star and D3Hoops.com Men's Basketball All-Atlantic Region Second Team member in 2015, Gjonbalaj played a key role in helping lead the Bulldogs to a 23-7 overall record, including a runner-up finish in the CUNYAC Championships and a #1 seed in the Eastern College Athletic Conference (ECAC) Division III Metro Championships. The 23 wins on the year tied for second most in school history and marked the seventh 20-win season in program history as well. BC was also ranked as high as fourth in the NCAA Atlantic Region rankings this season.
Gjonbalaj also joined the 1,000 point club this season at BC, becoming the 19th player in school history to accomplish the milestone. He finished his junior campaign with 1,191 career points, good for 11th all-time in program history.
