WAYNE, N.J. – The William Paterson men's basketball team (10-5, 5-3 NJAC) couldn't overcome a poor shooting night as the Pioneers fell to The College of New Jersey (10-5, 6-2 NJAC) 79-57 Jan. 9.

HOW IT HAPPENED:

  • The Lions scored the first 14 points of the game and led by as many as 20 (43-23) in the opening half.
  • The second stanza was more of the same as TCNJ increased its advantage to 27 with 3:02 remaining and cruised to the 79-57 victory.


INSIDE THE NUMBERS:

  • Sean Smith (Moraga, Calif./Campolindo) scored a team-high 13 points and Domenic Mignone(Rutherford, N.J./Rutherford) added nine tallied for WP.
  • For the game, William Paterson shot just 31.7 percent from the field (20-63), its worst shooting effort of the season


UP NEXT:

  • WP rounds out the first rotation of NJAC play this Saturday, Jan. 12 on the road at Ramapo. Tip-off is slated for 3:00 p.m.
