SHEBOYGAN, WI - The Benedictine University men's basketball team escaped the furthest road trip in the conference with a late victory at Lakeland University thanks to the heroics of Cade Ellingson.

• Benedictine used a 9-0 run in the first half to take a 16-11 lead on a Kyle Graebner three-pointer
• Benedictine led for the rest of the first half, using a run of 8-0 to move ahead 29-20 with 6:23 left
• Ellingson netted the first five points of the run
• Benedictine went into the break with a 37-31 edge
• Nick Kosich splashed down a three at the 17:26 mark of the second to give Benedictine a 44-35 lead
• Lakeland immediately answered with eight straight to pull within 44-43
• Kenny Bogus countered with a layup before Lakeland netted nine in a row to lead 52-46 with 12:51 remaining, setting the stage for a back-and-forth finish
• The hosts held the advantage until a layup from Keegan Graebner with 6:42 to play at 58-57
• Bogus put Benedictine ahead 65-60 with a layup at the 5:29 mark before Lakeland scored the next six to take a 66-65 lead with 2:42 left
• Lakeland held a 70-68 advantage in the final minute before Ellingson converted on a three-point play with 21 seconds left to put Benedictine ahead 71-70
• Eric Grygo grabbed a rebound with eight seconds to play on a Lakeland miss and Bogus sealed the win at the line

• Benedictine scored 36 points in the paint and shot 42.6 percent from the floor, overcoming a 34 percent clip in the second half
• Ellingson led all scorers with a career high 20 points, hitting three triples
• Grygo finished with 19 points and 11 rebounds in another double-double, connecting on 9-of-14 field goals
• Bogus notched 14 points with six rebounds, five blocks and three assists
