William Paterson Men's Basketball Falls at Brooklyn in Non-Conference Finale

BROOKLYN, N.Y. – The William Paterson men's basketball team (5-7, 1-4 NJAC) dropped its non-conference finale, 92-61, at Brooklyn (4-7, 0-1 CUNYAC) Jan. 4.
 
HOW IT HAPPENED:

  • After a pair of foul shots by senior Tim Gjonballa made it a 4-4 game with 16:27 on the clock, the Bulldogs went on a 27-6 run over an eight-minute stretch to take a 21-point lead (31-10).
  • The Pioneers responded with a 16-8 run, with senior Andre Wells contributing nine points, to pull within 13 (39-26) with 2:37 remaining in the half.
  • Brooklyn maintained its double-digit lead the rest of the way en route to securing the 92-61 victory.  

 
INSIDE THE NUMBERS:

  • Wells scored a team-high 20 points.
  • It marked his third 20-point performance of the season.
  • Gjonballa had eight points on 3-of-5 (.600) shooting.
  • Freshman Delani Hyde logged five points, a team-best seven boards and three blocks.
