BW's Ellington Earns Third Career OAC Midstream Lighting Men's Basketball Player of the Week Honor

WESTERVILLE, Ohio – Baldwin Wallace University junior All-Ohio Athletic Conference guard Ray Ellington (Westlake) has been named the OAC Midstream Lighting Men's Basketball Player of the Week for the third time in his career.

Over the course of the week, Ellington averaged 31.5 points per game. He scored 29 points in the home win against Heidelberg and set a single-game career high with 34 points in the road loss to Capital. He was highly efficient, shooting 12/18 from three-point range and 5/6 from the free-throw line. In addition to his scoring, Ellington recorded 11 total rebounds, two assists, and one steal. His contributions were key to BW's efforts this week, and his consistent scoring and all-around play made him a leading performer in the conference.

This season, Ellington has appeared in 21 games (starting in 20) while playing 717 minutes. He is third in the OAC with 360 points and 17.1 points per game. He is also fourth in the OAC with 150 rebounds and fourth in rebounds per game with 7.1. He has also dished out 21 assists, made nine blocks and nine steals.

In his career, Ellington has appeared in 57 games and has made 42 starts. He has tallied 841 points, 336 rebounds, 56 assists, 27 steals, and 27 blocked shots.

The Yellow Jackets return to the hardwood on Wednesday, Feb. 12 as they travel to University Heights for an OAC matchup against crosstown rival John Carroll University. The game is set to begin at 7 p.m. in the DeCarlo Varsity Center.
