NEW WILMINGTON, Pa. - Bethany College men's basketball freshman guard Semaj Marshall (Washington, D.C./Parkside) has been named the Presidents' Athletic Conference Newcomer of the Week for the first time in his career.

Marshall earns his first career Newcomer of the Week honor after helping lead Bethany in the team's 78-61 win over Houghton last week. Against the Highlanders, he had the best game of his career with a career-high 15 points, five assists, three rebounds, a block, and a steal in his first collegiate start. Eleven of Marshall's points came in the second half as the Bison outscored Houghton 43-26 to secure the Green and White's first home victory of the season.

This season, Marshall has appeared in all 11 games making one start. He has scored 46 points for an average of 4.2 per game and is second on the team with 33 assists. Marshall has also added 24 rebounds, 14 steals, and one block on the year.

The Bison are back in action on Wednesday, January 7 as they host Washington & Jefferson (Pa.) College in a Presidents' Athletic Conference matchup at 7:30 p.m. on Joe Kurey Memorial Court inside Hummel Fieldhouse.
