WAYNE, N.J. – The William Paterson men's basketball team (8-16, 3-14 NJAC) was defeated, 62-54, by Rutgers-Camden (12-11, 7-10 NJAC) on senior day in a New Jersey Conference (NJAC) game Feb. 14 at the Sports and Recreation Center.
Seniors Christian Gilmore, Patrick Liggins and Ethan Paul were all honored before the start of the game.
HOW IT HAPPENED:
- The Pioneers trailed by five (33-28) with 13:44 remaining in the game before scoring 11 unanswered points to go ahead by six (39-33).
- WP maintained its slim advantage until the Scarlet Raptors used a 14-2 run that spanned 4:41 to grab an eight-point lead (57-49) with 2:50 left to play.
- The Pioneers were unable to overcome the deficit and Rutgers-Camden earned the 62-54 road win.
INSIDE THE NUMBERS:
- Paul recorded his third double-double of the season, finishing with a team-high 11 points and a game-high 10 boards.
- Sophomore Jianni Moran posted a nine-point performance.
- Freshman Anghel Gomez chipped in with seven points.
- Freshman Nahsir Merrick had seven boards, three assists and three steals with two points.

- William Paterson will head to Mahwah, N.J., Wednesday, Feb. 18, for a 7:30 p.m. conference game at Ramapo to close out the 2025-26 campaign.
