JERSEY CITY, NJ (NJCUGothicKnights.com) | New Jersey City University drew within striking distance of Ramapo College multiple times throughout the game before the Roadrunners were able to pull away for a 64-51 win in a New Jersey Athletic Conference game on November 20 at the John J. Moore Athletics and Fitness Center on "Coach Charlie Brown Court." The game was the 2012-13 NJAC opener for both schools and NJCU's home debut.
Ramapo (3-0, 1-0 NJAC) had five players score in double figure while NJCU fell to 1-2 (0-1 NJAC). Ramapo leads the all-time series, 34-26.
In defeat, NJCU was led by senior shooting guard GABRIELLE RIVERA (Teaneck, NJ/Saint Joseph of the Palisades) who tallied 11 points (4-15 FG) while sophomore point guard ASHLEY VAZQUEZ (Jersey City, NJ/Marist) supplied 10 points and three assists.
Junior forward ALNISA HERNAIZ (Irvington, NJ/Irvington) tallied nine rebounds (eight defensive) and eight points. Senior guard DELIA CHERNEZ (Union City, NJ/Union City) chipped in seven rebounds.
