Millikin Women Roll Past Blackburn

          Playing on back-to-back nights didn't slow down the Millikin women's basketball team as they rolled to their second straight win defeating Blackburn College 82-56 on November 19 in the Griswold Center in Decatur, Ill.  Millikin is now 2-1 while Blackburn starts its season 0-1.

          Millikin controlled the entire game building a 40-29 advantage and rolling to a 34 point lead with 2:30 left in the game.  Millikin shot 58 percent from the field while holding Blackburn to 39 percent.  Millikin won the rebounding battle 38-23.

          Millikin's inside players showed their dominance for the second straight night with four post players in double figures.  Kelsey Going had 21 points and six rebounds.  Alyssa Saklak has 13 points and six rebounds.  Emma Hoyer and Hannah Millington came off the Big Blue bench to each score 12 points.   Hoyer had a team high seven rebounds and Millington added five.  Yip Ypya had nine points while point guard Rachael Weber had eight assists and two points.

          Brianna Roe had a double double to lead Blackburn with 24 points and 10 rebounds.

          Millikin will host Greenville College on Saturday, November 22 at 4 p.m.
