MOUNT BERRY, Ga. - The Vikings cruise to a victory at home over the Rhodes Lynx, to boast a 6-2 SAA record in the 51-39 defeat.

The Vikings defense had a great performance, holding their opponent to 39 total points for the game. Offensively, junior Elly Callihan led the way posting a double-double at 19 points and 11 rebounds with a remarkable 6 steals on the day.

It was a rough first quarter for the Vikings with the Lynx having the 14-10 advantage by the end of it. Big back-to-back threes from Callihan and Kenadie Lee highlighted the quarter. A stagnant last three minutes gave Rhodes the edge.

By the end of the second, Berry took back control. It all kicked off with a jumper from freshman, Briaiah Lewis who had 10 on the day. The team only garnered 11 points in the period, but the defense kicked it up a notch to hold the Lynx to single digits at 5. At the half, the Vikings led 21-19.

Ten points off of turnovers of seven from second chance points held Berry in a good position after a rough scoring first half.

In the third the team still did not seem to be able to find their rhythm but found a way to go up six as they headed into a 20-point fourth quarter performance.

Callihan continued to spike momentum for her team with key rebounds and buckets. Building a lead as big as 10, with still 7:37 left to play, the Vikings finally found their groove.

Rhodes tried to claw back, but clutch free throws made it impossible for them to do so. Berry is now on a four game win streak as they are close to the end of regular season.

Berry will be back in action on the road at Sewanee and Centre next weekend.
