Bethany Women's Basketball Falls to Case Western Reserve in Back and Forth Thriller

BETHANY, W.Va. - The Bethany College women's basketball team fell to Case Western Reserve (Ohio) University by a final score of 53-47 in a non-conference game on Joe Kurey Memorial Court at Hummel Fieldhouse.

Bethany (2-4) Leaders

  • Junior Academic All-PAC forward Kate Botti (Irwin, Pa./Norwin) had a big day finishing with a statline of eight rebounds, five points, and one assist while tying a career-high four blocks
  • Sophomore guard Ella Simpson (Morgantown, W.Va./University) shot a team-best 4-for-9 from the field with eight points and four rebounds
  • Senior Academic All-PAC forward Kaedlee Potter (Barboursville, W.Va./Cabell Midland) also scored eight points on 4-for-9 shooting with five rebounds
  • Graduate All-PAC guard Lindsey Garrison (Triadelphia, W.Va./Wheeling Park) hit a game-high two threes on her way to 12 points
  • Sophomore Academic All-PAC guard Addy Blazer (Hanoverton, Ohio/Beaver Local) led the team in steals with two and in assists with three while also adding five rebounds and four points

CWRU (5-1) Leaders

  • Junior forward Maura Schorr scored a game-high 17 points and grabbed 11 rebounds to complete the double-double
  • Senior guard Emily Plachta led all players with 15 rebounds and also scored 10 points for another Spartan double-double
  • Junior guard Mya Hartges made four assists and scored 11 points

The Bison are back in action on Monday, December 1 as they host the Presidents' Athletic Conference opener against Saint Vincent (Pa.) College at 5:30 p.m. on Joe Kurey Memorial Court inside Hummel Fieldhouse.
