LAS VEGAS – The University of Redlands women's basketball team (8-1) moved their winning streak to six games with a 71-65 win over Bridgewater State University (BSU) Tuesday afternoon at the D3hoops.com Classic.

The Bulldogs won this game with a dominant first quarter. Leila Hosn, Andrea Perkins, and Teagan McIlroy combined for 10 points across the first two plus minutes as they gave Redlands a 10-0 lead.

A couple of minutes later the Bears cut the lead down to four, 10-6, but Carly Hicks made a pair of threes in less than 30 seconds as the Bulldogs scored 14 of the final 19 points and led by 13, 24-11, at the end of one.

Across the first four minutes of the second quarter the Bulldogs were up 17 and had held the Bears to only two points. BSU, though, were able to cut their deficit to 11, 32-21, but Aliyah Anderson got to the line and converted a pair before Colbi Zorich and Perkins each had two points to make it a 16-point lead with less than a minute to play in the half.

A late foul by Redlands gave BSU the final two points but the lead was still five possessions, 38-24, after 20 minutes.

The Bears made an early push in the first two minutes of the third quarter as AJ Wick's two free throws were the Bulldogs only two points while BSU had six and were within 10, 40-30.

Over the next six minutes, however, Redlands made another run, scoring 17 of 27 points and reestablishing their big lead, 57-40. The lead after 30 minutes was 15.

Back-to-back three to begin the fourth made it a single-digit game for the first time in nearly three quarters, 59-50. Wick and Anderson, though, put five more points between them and the Bears after two free throws and a Zorich-assisted, Anderson three.

Despite a 14-point lead with 7:15 remaining in the game, the Bulldogs conceded a 15-4 run down to the 1:12 mark as Redlands' lead was only three, 68-65, and head coach Rich Murphy was forced into a timeout.

After committing a turnover and taking another timeout, the Bulldogs forced a missed shot, and Wick grabbed a rebound before Hosn was fouled and she made both at the line with 14 seconds on the clock which sealed the win.

Zorich had a game-high 16 points along with seven rebounds and four assists. McIlroy had another all-around game with seven points, eight rebounds, and six assists. Wick was a rebound away from a double-double.

This game concludes non-conference and 2025 competition. They make a push into the final 15 Southern California Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SCIAC) games this Saturday at 2 p.m. at Pomona-Pitzer.
