GALLOWAY, N.J. – The No. RV/20 William Paterson women's basketball team (17-1, 11-0 NJAC) bested Stockton (10-8, 7-4 NJAC), 60-51, in a New Jersey Athletic Conference (NJAC) road game Jan. 24.
HOW IT HAPPENED:
- After four straight points from senior Patty Walsh to close out the second quarter, the Pioneers carried a 24-22 lead into the half.
- WP extended its lead to double figures (35-25) after opening the third quarter on an 11-3 run.
- The Ospreys countered with an 8-2 run to pull within four (37-33) with 3:02 on the clock, but the Pioneers held on to claim the 60-51 road win.
INSIDE THE NUMBERS:
- Junior Jada Jacobs recorded a career-high 20 points and 13 rebounds for her first career double-double.
- Senior Renee Wells had 14 points and eight boards.
- Walsh totaled nine points and seven rebounds.
- Graduate student Megan Sears reeled in six points and added seven points.
- The Pioneers extended their win streak to seven and their conference win streak to 11.
- William Paterson is ranked 20th in this week's Women's Basketball Coaches Association (WBCA) Top 25 Poll and received votes in the D3hoops.com Top 25 Poll.
