KEUKA, NY - The Golden Flyers set the tone early and carried that momentum throughout, cruising to a 76-54 victory over Keuka on Friday night. Nazareth moves to 18-4 overall and 13-1 in Empire 8 play to retain the conference's No. 1 overall seed.
How It Happened:
- Behind seven first quarter points from Katie MacLachlan, the Golden Flyers jumped out to a 16-10 lead after one.
- To start the second quarter, Nazareth got hot from the field as they went on a 16-5 run to take a commanding 15 point lead. Sarina McDowell led the way for Nazareth, scoring five straight points during that stretch.
- Nazareth stayed red hot for the rest of the first half, stretching the margin to 40-21 at the break on 62% shooting from the field.
- Molly Benetti continued her strong game, scoring seven points in the third quarter to help the Golden Flyers maintain a sizable lead, 55-42.
- Through the first five minutes of the fourth quarter, the Golden Flyers put together another scoring run, this time a 15-4 run to extend their lead to 70-48.
- Nazareth capped the performance with a convincing 76-54 victory.
